Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Gentling offers sedation dentistry to those patients who are extremely nervous about dental treatment. This oral sedation is extremely safe and incredibly effective at letting the anxious patient relax while their dental treatment is preformed.
How does oral sedation work? Dr. Gentling will simply prescribe you a sedative to take the night before your appointment so you will sleep comfortably and wake up rested and relaxed. You will then need someone to drive you to your dental appointment. Approximately 30 minutes before your appointment, you will take some additional medication so you will be completely relaxed for the procedure. Dr. Gentling will use additional medications and laughing gas to further relax you if needed. You will be completely monitored throughout your visit by Dr. Gentling.
Your dental work will be completed and before you know it you will be on your way home often times having little recollection of your visit with us.
