State-of-the-Art Dental Technology

Dr. Gentling uses innovative technology to make accurate diagnoses and provide excellent care.

Learn more about dental technology here:

Intraoral Camera

During your exam, Dr. Gentling or the hygienist will likely use a small intraoral camera that looks like a wand. This intraoral camera takes close up high-resolution pictures of your teeth. We will then show you on our monitors what your fillings and teeth look like. This way you can see what we see and together we'll decide on a course of treatment that's best for you.

Digital X-Ray

At Gentling Dental Group, we wanted the most up to date technology for our patients; that's why we chose to be one of the very few offices in the Tulsa area that use all digital x-rays. This new technology has three huge advantages. First, digital x-rays expose the patient to a tenth of the radiation as compared to conventional dental films. Second, a full set of x-rays takes much less time to complete. And finally, digital images can be enhanced to find cavities that are too small to be seen on a conventional x-ray film. Less radiation, less time taking x-rays, and earlier detection (thus smaller fillings if a cavity is present) are three HUGE benefits over conventional x-rays.

DIAGNOdent

Dr. Gentling uses a cavity-detecting laser called a DIAGNOdent. This machine uses a tiny laser that quickly and painlessly measures suspicious areas on your teeth to help determine if decay is present. This assists us in finding tooth decay in the earliest stages so your fillings can be small and inexpensive to fix.

Plasma Arc Curing Light

Dr. Gentling uses a special very powerful light to harden or cure the composite filling material. This Plasma Arc Curing Light (PAC light) hardens your fillings much faster than other curing lights. You will be able to eat once you leave the office without fear of breaking your new fillings.

Loupes

You will notice when Dr. Gentling is working he wears some strange looking glasses called Loupes. These glasses are actually magnifying what he is working on. This way he can guarantee that his work is of the highest quality and will last as long as possible.

Paperless Office

We don't have to worry about lost charts at Dr. Gentling's office. We have all of our records on the computer. From your initial paperwork, our clinical notes, digital x-rays, intra-oral pictures and much more. Our computers are backed up every night to ensure that we never loose any of your information.

(AED) Automated External Defibrillator

For the safety of our patients we have an automated external defibrillator (AED) just like the ones you have seen at airports and shopping malls. We hope no one in our care will ever have a heart attack but if needed, we have a life saving AED on hand. A person's chance of survival from having cardiac arrest is tremendously increased if an AED is quickly employed. Your health and well-being is our primary concern.

High Strength Topical Anesthetic

Unfortunately, dentistry still requires shots, but thankfully, Dr. Gentling has a local pharmacy specially mix a super high strength topical anesthetic that is placed on your gum tissue before any shots are given. This topical anesthetic is so powerful that most of our patients don't even feel the shot.
