Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a way to brighten and whiten your teeth. It is important to remember that everyone has a whiteness level they are able to obtain and composite fillings and crowns will not change color with any whitening system.
We have three types of teeth whitening systems available to you. Our most popular is the take home system that you do yourself. We take impressions of your teeth then fabricate custom bleaching trays that fit precisely on your teeth. All you do is simply apply the whitening gel to the trays and wear them a couple of hours a day and in a week or two you will have noticeably whiter teeth. All you have to do is every six months or so bleach your teeth for a couple of days and you will always have bright white teeth.
Our second option is the in office whitening system. This is great for the person who doesn't want to wait the week or two needed for the take home trays, or someone that doesn't like the bleaching trays in their mouth. This in office whitening takes about an hour and a half. We place a barrier around your teeth so your gum tissue is protected from the very powerful whitening agent. The whitening gel is then applied several times to your teeth and in about an hour your teeth are much whiter. The in office whitening does not get your teeth whiter than the take home trays it just gets your results faster.
Our third option is the deep whitening system. This is a specialized system used to whiten extremely dark teeth. Teeth that have been stained dark brown or yellow from tetracycline have previously only had porcelain veneers as an option to correct the problem. Today's newest whitening agents can work on even the darkest teeth if used correctly. The deep whitening uses a special combination of both the take home trays and the in office procedure and requires several visits and several weeks to complete but it works on even the darkest teeth and may be a better option than veneers.
